Sisso IGT Veneto
Alcohol content: 12,50% vol.
Variety: Pinot Blanc, Tai and Riesling, depending on the vintage.
Production zone: Vineyards in Campo di Pietra, Piave river basin, south-east of treviso. The average age of the vineyards is 18 years, depending on the grape variety.
Terroir: Caranto, originating from the decomposition of sedimentary rocks. It abounds with potassium and features balanced quantities of clay (30%) and loam (max. 20%). Sand percentage 50%.
Harvest period: Manual harvest. Riesling is harvested first to preserve its aromatic notes and subsequently the Pinot Blanc and Tai.
Vinification: soft pressing of the grapes, cold decanting of the must and initiation of fermentation at a controlled temperature (16-18°) with the introduction of selected yiests. The three varieties are vinified separately.
Sensory characteristics: Dry wine, straw yellow colour with green glares. It is elegant in its flowery hawthorn aroma, and white-pulp fruit. Slightly acid taste, fresh and well-balanced body.
Food pairings: As an aperitif, with shellfish, baked fish and risottos.
Serve at 8-10°C in glasses with long stems and medium sized bowls.
